Checkered Knit Scrunchie

Gentle on Hair: The knit material is soft and stretchy. This helps prevent hair breakage while keeping your hair secure in a ponytail or bun. This pattern can be knit flat, on DPN or in the round.
Supply List:
4.25mm needles (17” circular, or flat)
Baby Luv Georgia in White (360 m)
Baby Luv Georgia in Black (360 m)
6mm Elastic apx 10in (25cm)
Gauge: Doesnt Matter
Skill Level: EASY
Abriviations
k - knit
BOR - beginning of round
sts - stitches
st - stitch
Directions
CO 90 sts in black.
(join for knitting in the round and mark BOR with a unique stitch marker)
Row 1: k 3 sts in black, k 3 sts in white.
Row 2 -4: repeat row 1.
Row 5: k 3 sts in white, k 3 sts in black.
Row 6-8: repeat row 5
Repeat rows 1-8, 3 more times. (24 rows total)
Cut white yarn and use a stretchy bind-off only using black yarn.
Cut yarn and leave a long tail 3x the length of the project. (Sew into the tube if knit flat)
Flip the project inside out so the floats are facing outward.
Tie elastic ends together to create a hair tie.
Place a stretched scrunchie on a book or something sturdy to fit elastic around.
Place an elastic band around the outside of the scrunchie.
Fold in half so the seams line up with the checkered pattern and sew together.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
